Being oneself

Accepting that we are simply ourselves, much in need of God’s help is a huge step. Many people flee from this idea and take refuge in Aesthetic Surgery, in alcohol, drugs or everything together which is a sure way to depression.

A prior step to that is deceiving oneself. Immature persons dream with just pretending to be someone else in front of other people.

We offer today the anecdote-example of this later case. The present anecdote shows the case of the child-like person who deceives himself pretending to be someone else… There it goes…

Biography of Maxwell Toyin Ajanaku – (LLB, BBDii, Doctorate, PiDDy)

Grew up in Lagos. Went to law school in London. After his studies he decided to go back to Lagos, because he knew that he could be a ‘big man’ there. He opened a new law office in an elegant expensive office block in Victoria Island (he currently owes the bank 2 months payment on the loan he got to purchase the office). On the first day, he saw a man coming up the elevator and directly towards him and decided to make a big impression. As the man came to the door, Mr Ajanaku pretended to be on the phone and motioned the man to take a seat. Mr Ajanaku said into the phone: «No Tony, No way. No and absolutely no. You tell those clowns in New York that I am not flying all that way to that side, to settle the case for less than a million bucks!!. Pretending to hear a response Mr Ajanaku continued…
«Yes. The Appeals Court has agreed to hear the case next week. «I’ll be handling the primary argument and the other members of my team will conduct the defense and handle the prosecution. «Okay. Give the State Prosecutor my regards and tell the DA that I will be happy to attend his swearing in ceremony at the white house and please tell the other members of the jury» to wrap things up quickly. «Okay bye, keep in touch Tony and thank you very much!»
Meanwhile…The visitor sat patiently as Mr Ajanaku rattled final instructions into the telephone handset. Finally, Mr Ajanaku put down the telephone and said: «I’m sorry for the delay sir, but as you can see, I’m very busy. What can I do for you?» The man said: «I’m from Nigerian Telecom. I’ve come to connect your phone.»
