WORDS FROM MY HEART (PINNOCK, AMOS;BLECHNER, DANIELLA;CALECA, LEE) (Poesía)

Above all put on love, for love is the bond of perfection.?3:14 Yes,?I am a guy, and I do have emotions. My heart is on my sleeve and yes, I am what you call a "Hopeless Romantic." Plus you can say I'm more emotional than the average guy and yes I'll happily embrace that?because I am. And with all these emotions?raring?inside of me, I decided to write. So here's some words from my heart, things I've imagined?doing with the love of my life,?words from when my heart got broken, letters to my future wife and other scattered thoughts that lingered in my heart. As much as these are words?from my heart, I'm sure these words have been spoken in your heart too. Yes, at times love can bring pain, but it is also a beautiful thing to experience. ? I started this book in pain and finished it through love.

Cogitate--verb: To think deeply about something; meditate or reflect. In this over-stimulated fast-paced society everyone is so busy there is no time for cogitation. Now only rebels and misfits cogitate. What a pity.To correct this contemporary problem poet Sam Love uses poetry to examine the cracks in our culture. Cracks that can have devastating personal, ecological and social consequences. For him cogitation is a metaphor for the power of poetry to provide insights that can recreate our so-called modern world and heal beleaguered souls.Far from doom and gloom, Cogitation showcases a wit that will make you smile. By understanding the interconnections surrounding a single event, product or object he believes we can gain new clarity about healing our world. It doesn?t matter if he?s riffing on the commodification of yoga or the shuttering of small business dreams as a big box store steals customers. In one poem for example he focuses on a single blueberry in his cereal to give us a better understanding of the distance our food travels. In another we follow the journey of a carelessly tossed plastic bag throug

PAINT THE SKY (MARTIN, KRISTIN) (Poesía)

?Capturing life?s seasons ? birth to death and everything in between ? and juxtaposing this with the earth?s seasons and the rhythms of insomnia, Kristin Martin uncovers what it means to be alive and connected to our world. Full of humour, warmth and heart, Paint the Sky is a poetry collection that will enchant, awaken and move.? ? Lynette Washington ?Kristin Martin reminds us that rare moments between perfectly ordinary people are precious gems ? and lovingly holds them up to the sunlight. With a potpourri of forms from sonnets, through villanelles to concrete poems, this collection celebrates the entire palette of life: ?the occasional click of Lego?, the catch of the day after a family cricket match when the blue gum ?had caught the moon/ and was holding it triumphantly/ in the crook of a branch?, ?while the kites/ with an exultant whistle/?escape into the corner of the sky?. These poems are a panoply of emotions covering themes as wide as falling in (and out) of love, homelessness, insomnia, dealing with grief and even metapoetics with the memorable line: ?my mind wades through the words I have become?.
