Sabies que hi havia un parc d’atraccions al passeig de Gràcia? A quin any s’inaugurà el Tibidabo? Quina va ser la primera muntanya russa? Totes les respostes i moltes més, les trobareu a: "Parcs d’atraccions de Barcelona" Contràriament al que pugui semblar, els parcs d’atraccions, entesos com un conjunt de dispositius amb l’única finalitat de divertir el públic, són un fenomen antic. Aquest llibre recorda alguns dels parcs d’atraccions que ha tingut Barcelona. Els triats, creiem que representen prou bé la manera de divertir-se al llarg dels darrers cent cinquanta anys. N’hi ha de grans i petits, de populars i aristocràtics, de moderns i revellits. Tots, però, van compartir un mateix objectiu: proporcionar a la ciutadania hores d’entreteniment a través de la quimera, l’engany, el somni, la fantasia, la il·lusió, en definitiva. Els veurem néixer, assistirem a les inauguracions, reviurem les seves hores d’esplendor i de decadència fins a la desaparició, deixant rere seu una estel·la de records que el temps ha esvaït. Hem dedicat una especial atenció a l’únic supervivent: el Tibidabo. En aquest diplomatari es reuneix una col·lecció de documents de l'Arxiu de la Corona d'Aragó que testimonien la relació entre la Casa reial i Francesc Eiximenis de 1373 i 1409. Els 107 documents recollits doblen el nombre dels que fins ara es coneixien sobre la vida i la trajectòria del franciscà i n'il·luminen aspectes polèmics o desconeguts, com ara la posició davant del Cisma d'Occident, la relació amb el bisbat d'Elna o, fins i tot, la data de la seva mort.
