Us heu preguntat mai per què utilitzem, de manera espontània, expressions com ara "afluixar la mosca", "escampar la boira" o "passar per la pedra"? Per què ens referim a "l’any de la picor" o "a la quinta forca"? Per què "som de la màniga ampla" o "fem campana"? Us presentem, doncs, l’origen d’un centenar de dites habituals en la nostra parla quotidiana, frases fetes que col·loquem a tort i a dret, sovint sense conèixer la procedència. Esperem "no estar carregats de punyetes" en el nostre propòsit. Tampoc volem "cantar la canya a ningú", ni molt menys "donar gat per llebre". Només provem de "no perdre el fil" i "posar els punts sobre les is", sense necessitat de passar per "uns setciències". I esperem fer-ho sense necessitat de "treure el sant Cristo gros".



Este libro es fruto de un trabajo de investigación que analiza y presenta unos materiales inéditos sobre la posguerra española en el Protectorado de Marruecos, entre 1936 y 1956. Se trata de cartas escritas por mujeres españolas y hombres marroquíes (musulmanes y judíos), protagonistas de una situación que desborda las interpretaciones habituales no solo de la posguerra española, sino de las relaciones entre mujeres y hombres, comunidades y religiones en situaciones coloniales. Las cartas revelan unas relaciones íntimas muy diversas que despertaron la obsesión de la administración colonial, que inició una censura y persecución de aquellas porque ponían en entredicho las barreras entre colonizadores y colonizados. Tras un estudio introductorio sobre el contexto socio-histórico de aquellas relaciones, presentamos una selección de cartas, fotografías y documentos con la que invitamos a conocer directamente la visión en primera persona de las protagonistas de esta historia a través de una lectura imaginativa de las fuentes.
