Paris est née citadelle. Avant d¿être une ville, elle fut un camp de retranchement. La première fois que l¿histoire la nomme, elle l¿appelle place forte. L¿expédition de Labiénus contre Lutèce en 52 avant l¿ère chrétienne, ne fut pas, à proprement parlé, un siège.

Preocupat pel poc coneixement de la història que, en general tenen els ciutadans, l’autor inicia l’any 1987 una col·lecció de llibres d’entrevistes amb personatges lleidatans per tal que quedés constància pública de les seves biografies i opinions. Ja en el primer volum, Converses a Lleida, s'expressava la possibilitat d'anomenar "Memòria de Lleida" l'aplec de converses publicades ja que, de fet, són això: un intent de plasmar les vivències d'un seguit de persones vinculades d'alguna manera a aquestes terres. Per tal de perpetuar-ne la memòria i, sobretot, perquè serveixi d’aprenentatge a les futures generacions. Memòria de Lleida recull dotze entrevistes que recorren, amb profunditat, la trajectòria vital de sengles lleidatans i lleidatanes a través de diversos àmbits.





En una serie de sesenta y cinco monografías realizadas por prestigiosos especialistas de diferentes universidades españolas, se presenta un completo y extenso recorrido a través de la historia de nuestra civilización y cultura, desde las primeras civilizaciones fluviales hasta la caída del Imperio Romano de Occidente. La cuidada selección de textos de autores antiguos, mapas, ilustraciones, cuadros cronológicos y orientaciones bibliográficas, junto con su gran extensión y rigor, hacen de esta colección un recurso imprescindible para la realización de trabajos monográficos, y /o la profundización sobre los temas referidos al Mundo Antiguo que se suelen abordar en los manuales al uso.
