LOS HITITAS. (Historia)

En una serie de sesenta y cinco monografías realizadas por prestigiosos especialistas de diferentes universidades españolas, se presenta un completo y extenso recorrido a través de la historia de nuestra civilización y cultura, desde las primeras civilizaciones fluviales hasta la caída del Imperio Romano de Occidente. La cuidada selección de textos de autores antiguos, mapas, ilustraciones, cuadros cronológicos y orientaciones bibliográficas, junto con su gran extensión y rigor, hacen de esta colección un recurso imprescindible para la realización de trabajos monográficos, y /o la profundización sobre los temas referidos al Mundo Antiguo que se suelen abordar en los manuales al uso. Ello permite además que cada libro pueda funcionar como un capítulo diferenciado en el conjunto completo de la obra o bien, directamente, como una monografía especializada.

DEL PARADÍS A LA NACIÓ. LA MUNTANYA A CATALUNYA (Historia)

Aquesta obra estudia la representació de les muntanyes de Catalunya durant els segles XV-XX, prenent com a punt de partida la Teoria de la Mediança proposada per Augustin Berque. Temàticament es divideix en dos grans blocs. En el primer d'ells es tracta la imatge de les muntanyes durant l'edat moderna, quan aquestes generalment eren ignorades o temudes. En la segona part es planteja la nova imatge que a partir de l'edat contemporània varen anar adquirint aquestes realitats geogràfiques, sobretot a la llum del fet regionalista català. L'estudi posa el seu èmfasi en les relacions paisatgístiques que es puguin extreure de les representacions de la muntanya, perquè considera que el canvi més important en la història ecosimbòlica de la muntanya a Catalunya es lliga a la seva representació en tant que paisatge. Entre l'edat mitjana i el segle XX, la muntanya a Catalunya ha viscut un canvi espectacular pel que fa a la seva representació. De ser un lloc horrorós i vinculat al sagrat ha passat a convertir-se en un paisatge sublim compost per alguns indrets on es poden trobar els trets més essencials de la nacionalitat catalana. Aquest procés va començar a Montserrat i va ser continuat per altres massissos.
