Davant mateix del riu Segre, a la Banqueta de Lleida, entre la casa Aunós —on visqueren tants anys Màrius i Víctor Torres— i la Paeria, hi ha l´edifici modernista del que fou Hotel Palace, construït a primers del segle xx per Eduard Aunós Cau. Unes enormes lletres E i A, al capdamunt de la façana ens recorden encara avui l´empenta i ambició d´aquell aranés arrelat a Lleida.
