Road Trips, a memoir by Tamim Ansary, recounts stories from his years as part of the American counterculture of the ?60s and ?70s, after he arrived from Afghanistan where he was born and where he spent the first sixteen years of his life. Memorias de Ubaldo Plaza Requena, que nació en Guadix (Granada) en 1945. A los nueve años emigró a Tarrasa (Barcelona) con sus padres. Trabajó en el monte haciendo carbón hasta los 17 años. A los 16 (enero de 1961) ingresó en el Partido Comunista (PCE-PSUC) y emprendió la lucha clandestina contra el franquismo. Militó hasta 1983, cuando dejó la militancia por discrepancias con la dirección del PSUC por su deriva nacionalista. Poco después el PSUC sería liquidado por la dirección. Militó brevemente en el PCC.
