LA FONTANA DEL PLACER . ZARZUELA EN DOS ACTOS (1776) (AA.VV.)

Estudio y primera edición de la zarzuela en dos actos "La fontana del placer", con música de José Castel Caramusel (¿1737?-1807) y libreto de Bruno Solo de Zaldívar, estrenada en el teatro del Príncipe de Madrid en 1776. El volumen consta de tres partes: estudio, edición literaria y edición musical. El estudio resume las contribuciones previas sobre zarzuela en la España del siglo XVIII, actualiza las biografías del compositor y el libretista de la obra editada y analiza el contexto de producción de las zarzuelas y óperas hispanas de la época. Asimismo, el estudio analiza las características dramáticas y musicales específicas de "La fontana del placer" en el marco de la España de la Ilustración e incluye la descripción de fuentes literarias y musicales empleadas y los criterios editoriales. La segunda parte del volumen aporta la edición completa del libreto de "La fontana del placer" con sus notas críticas, las notas a la edición musical y la bibliografía. La tercera parte presenta la edición musical de la zarzuela con las secciones declamadas insertas en los lugares apropiados.
