SANTA IRENE, LA FIRMEZA DE LA FE

Irene (que en griego significa 'paz'), nació en Tesalónica, en la Grecia actual, y durante la persecución de Diocleciano en el año 304 huyó a las montañas con sus hermanas Agape y Quionia para esconder los libros sagrados de la comunidad. Fueron descubiertas y, al negarse a ofrecer sacrificios a los ídolos, las dos hermanas fueron ejecutadas (y se celebra su memoria el 1 de abril) mientras que Irene, después de varios intentos de convencerla para que abandonase la fe, fue llevada a un burdel y finalmente también ejecutada.

ESGLÉSIA I REGNE EN L’EUCARISTIA

Jaume Fontbona, en aquest llibre, ens ofereix un conjunt de reflexions sobre temes diversos, publicades a la Revista Catalana de Teologia i també a la Miscel·lània en honor del cardenal Lluís Martínez Sistach: Eucaristia i Església, Església i Regne, el laïcat, el sensus fidei, la sinodalitat, la relació entre Església local i Església universal. Tot plegat, noves aportacions en la construcció de pensament per entendre millor què fonamenta la vida de l’Església i com podem, ara, en aquest món nostre, fer-ho més viu. Jaume Fontbona transmet una manera d’entendre i viure l’Església amb un fort sentiment de comunió. L’Eucaristia esdevé el punt de confluència de les vides de tots els seus membres, que es troben allà amb Jesucrist present en una comunitat que vetlla per tots els qui la formen, present en els responsables de la comunitat, present en la Paraula, i present finalment en el Cos partit i la Sang compartida. I d’allà, d’aquesta trobada, en surt la missió de treballar pel Regne de Déu amb tots els homes i dones de la terra, la nostra casa comuna, i de portar la Bona Nova a tots els germans i germanes que no l’han descoberta. Jaume Fontbona i Missé (Arenys de Munt, 1958) és prevere de Barcelona, rector de la parròquia de Crist Rei de La Sagrera, doctor en Teologia, membre del Centre de Pastoral Litúrgica de Barcelona, del qual ha estat president durant nou anys, i professor ordinari de la Facultat de Teologia de Catalunya, alhora que compta amb una àmplia experiència pastoral en els moviments evangelitzadors d’Acció Catòlica. Actualment és consiliari nacional de la JOC Nacional de Catalunya i les Illes. En aquest llibre es conjuguen la seva experiència docent a la Facultat de Teologia amb la seva experiència pastoral.
