LOS TRAUMATISMOS. COMPLICACIONES Y SECUELAS – GUÍA PRÁCTICA PARA JURISTAS . INCLUYE CD (FRAGA GARCÍA, HÉCTOR)

Los Traumatismos. Complicaciones y Secuelas (Guía práctica para juristas), es una obra en estricta coherencia con su denominación, por cuanto ha sido elaborada pensando en aportar a los juristas conocimientos básicos sobre la patología traumática mediante un léxico, sistematización y estructura que les permita captar con prontitud y facilidad la esencia del amplio espectro de sus contenidos. Para ello se tiene prioritariamente en cuenta el destinatario de la obra, un profesional de alto nivel cultural, pero no obligado a ser experto en los temas médicos que constituyen el núcleo de la querella. Tomamos como referencia, a efectos de conferirle un mayor pragmatismo, los contenidos de la tabla VI (clasificación y valoración de secuelas) de la vigente ley, 34/2003, sobre Responsabilidad Civil y Seguro en la Circulación de Vehículos a Motor. También incluimos la consideración de otros aspectos de la Traumatología que por su trascendencia y carácter genérico estimamos de interés, aun cuando no figuren en el referido listado y que al mismo tiempo pueden ayudar a establecer ciertas analogías con algunas contingencias lesionales omitidas en esa relación, así como con los traumatismos laborales, por agresión e incluso fortuitos que pueda ser objeto de litigio. Habida cuenta que la conceptuación lesional y de secuelas es única, los criterios que se abordan son aplicables a cualquier clase de accidente, aunque la tipificación de su valoración, que afecta al legislador, pueda ser diferente.

El inglés jurídico norteamericano tiene como objetivo básico el estudio del inglés utilizado por los juristas norteamericanos que, aunque tiene muchos puntos comunes con el inglés jurídico de Inglaterra y Gales, posee igualmente peculiaridades muy singulares. El texto se divide en quince capítulos, cada uno de los cuales trata del lenguaje de un aspecto concreto del ordenamiento jurídico norteamericano. El libro arranca con un examen del lenguaje de la Constitución norteamericana, los poderes del estado, los tribunales federales y los estatales, el proceso penal, el civil, y el administrativo con sus múltiples agencias para pasar luego a las soluciones alternativas a las diferencia, los contratos, la banca, el comercio internacional, la familia, etc. Cada capítulo se cierra con uno o varios documentos auténticos, que van desde transcripciones literales de las sesiones de los juicios, hasta sentencias, medidas cautelares, contratos, órdenes de alejamiento, etc. Todos los documentos van acompañados de abundantes notas, que facilitan su traducción al español. Como es un libro que trata del lenguaje jurídico norteamericano, se ha utilizado la ortografía de este país (color, honor, favorable, misdemeanor; defense, offense, cheque, etc.) y se ha prestado especial atención al análisis de legalese y del plain English, así como a los registros lingüísticos utilizados en las sala de vistas por los jueces, los abogados, los testigos, los peritos y los acusados. Aunque dirigido a los alumnos y alumnas de las Facultades de Traducción e Interpretación y de Derecho, también puede resultar de interés a los estudiantes de Filología, Economía, Sociología, Periodismo, Publicidad, etc., a los profesionales de Derecho, la Traducción, la Interpretación oral, el Periodismo, la Sociología, la Economía, así como a quienes estén interesados en el estudio y análisis de los lenguajes especializados.
