ALFERRIKALDUA (BERNHARD, THOMAS)

Hiru musikariren arteko harremanek osatzen dute eleberriaren mamia. Salzburg-en ezagutu dute elkar Horowitz maisuak Mozarteum eskolan emango duen ikastaro berezi batean parte hartzeko. Berehala gertakizun erabakigarri bat: musikari horietako batek, gero Glenn Gould piano-jotzaile ospetsua izango denak, Bachen Goldberg bariazioak jotzen ditu maisuki. Hori heriotza-kolpea izango da beste bientzat: piano-jotzaile oso onak diren arren, inoiz ez dira izango Glenn Gould bezain onak. Hiru pertsonaia “nahastu” horien bidez, Bernhardek bere izaera konplexuko alderdi ezberdinak plazaratzen ditu: izengabeko narratzaileaz gain Glenn Gould pertsonaia erreala baina berrasmatua erabiltzen du espresuki eta Ludwig Wittgenstein filosofoaren zenbait ezaugarri ere jasotzen ditu Wertheimer pertsonaia asmatuaren baitan; eta, horren bidez, artearen zentzuari eta helburuari buruzko kontakizuna eskaintzen digu, perfekzioa lortzeko irrika eta horren ezintasunari buruzkoa. Jeinu paregabearen bakardadea, porrot egin eta hori onartu ezinean kalezuloan sartuta dagoen artista eta idazkerari esker neurri batean zulotik irtetea lortzen duen narratzailea biltzen dira kontakizunean.

TRAGÈDIES (MARC PACUVI)

Les tragèdies de Marc Pacuvi, autor llatí d'època arcaica (s. III-II aC), han estat parcialment preservades per un grapat de fragments transmesos per via indirecta, és a dir recuperats a partir de les citacions que en fan altres autors. Aquests textos es corresponen, en la seva gran majoria, a onze tragèdies de tema mitològic i ambientació grega, pertanyents principalment al cicle troià. En la completa edició d'Esther Artigas, que presenta un text llatí establert de bell nou i la primera traducció catalana de Pacuvi, cada tragèdia va precedida d'una notícia preliminar que n'exposa l'argument, i els fragments van acompanyats de comentaris que en faciliten la lectura.

EPISTOLARIO (SAN JERÓNIMO)

La correspondencia de San Jerónimo resulta ser la más interesante y accesible de sus obras, por la variedad de los temas que aborda y por la calidad de su estilo, un destacado y continuo equilibrio entre retórica y simplicidad. Nos hallamos, sin duda, ante un vivo retrato del carácter del autor y con él, de una época tan cambiante y convulsa como la del final de un Imperio. La presente selección de epístolas reúne algunos de los temas predilectos del autor y de su obra en torno a la importancia del estudio de la Biblia, de la literatura cristiana y de la educación temprana en la misma fe.

LUCIAN OF SAMOSATA, GREEK WRITER AND ROMAN CITIZEN (MESTRE ROCA, FRANCESCA / GÓMEZ I CARDÓ, PILAR)

Lucian was a man of letters and thinker who stood at the meeting point of three cultures: the Oriental culture of the Roman province of Syria, Greek culture as a result of his own background and the cultural tradition of the education he had received, and Roman culture, since in his lifetime it was Rome that exercised political power and, even though it adopted Greek culture as its own, it still made a clear contribution to this world. This three-faceted cultural outlook to Lucian of Samosata is of great interest for the study of the Roman Empire, with all its implications for the coexistence of peoples, for preserving identities, for creating or recreating identifying traits, some of which separated peoples while others brought them together when faced with alien forces, as well as for fusion, osmosis and syncretism. Moreover, this ample series of data provides us with information not only about cultural aspects, but also as regards social behaviour, ways of exercising and understanding political power, customs, religion, spectacles and celebrations..The book is divided into two sections, one focusing on Lucian as a writer, and one dealing with Lucian as a citizen of the Empire.

PARADOJAS RACIONALES (LÓPEZ DE VEGA, ANTONIO)

Antonio López de Vega representa en sus obras uno de los ejemplos más originales de la prosa barroca del siglo XVII, precedente de Gracián en muchos puntos, y que podríamos considerar el Montaigne español.

LA VERDAD ESCURECIDA – EL HERMANO FINGIDO (DE ALMEIDA, ANTÓNIO)

El conflicto dramático de La verdad escurecida se desarrolla en dos planos: político y sentimental. El primero de ellos se articula en torno a la figura del Rey, cuyo poder parece socavado por una crisis latente, aunque al comienzo controlada, gracias al conocimiento certero que posee sobre las lealtades en que puede apoyarse (representadas por el marqués Federico) y las deslealtades encubiertas de las que puede recelar (simbolizadas por el duque Carlos). El conflicto político se entreteje con una trama pasional, nucleada alrededor de madama Roselinda y su deseo de vengarse del Rey, para lo cual ha decidido relegar su inclinación hacia el marqués Federico y valerse del duque Carlos, cabeza de los conspiradores.
