Casado en 1908 con Eva von Bülow, la hija pequeña e ilegítima de Richard Wagner, el filósofo británico Houston Stewart Chamberlain (1855-1927), llegó a convertirse en el conductor espiritual de la Villa Wahnfried, la casa del clan de los Wagner en la colina de Bayreuth en Baviera.
