VIDA PARA RECORDAR
Según redactaba esta biografía asomaban muchas vivencias a mi memoria. No obstante, deseo relatar las anécdotas más relevantes con el deseo de que mis hijos recuerden siempre a su padre tal y como es, y, a través de este recorrido de vida, sepan comprenderme. A medida que voy repasando el sendero recorrido, siento que son muchos los tesoros acumulados, y siento que fue en Francia en donde las circunstancias se presentaron más favorables. Tal vez la juventud en pareja. Tal vez el sabor de la libertad recién estrenada. El saberse sin censuras; el ser uno mismo director de la banda sonora de su existencia?
RITUALES COTIDIANOS
Aislarse por completo o celebrar fiestas multitudinarias, recurrir a los estupefacientes o a la vida saludable, renunciar a los hijos o dejar que pululen por el estudio... Los modos de enfrentarse a la creación son innumerables, como refleja el irónico y sagaz testimonio de las protagonistas de este libro. Este "Rodin" de Rilke no es el libro de un crítico que concurre a una galería de arte o a un museo, se planta ante la obra del artista, la contempla, la estudia y se retira a escribir sobre ella. Esta obra ha sido escrita mientras veía trabajar al maestro y lo oía exponer la concepción de su arte y sus ideas sobre sus propios trabajos; mientras aprendía él mismo "algo de la esencia de la creación". Se comprende así el poderoso efecto de inspiración que debían tener esas palabras en el joven poeta. ¿Es posible que un pintor influya tanto en la obra de un poeta? El propio Rilke escribe en una carta: "cuán ampliamente esta influencia directa y múltiple del gran escultor superó todas las de procedencia literaria, y las hizo, en cierto modo, superfluas". Si bien Rodin no podía enseñarle nada relativo a la escritura sí le ayudó a descubrir el secreto del Arte.

This book details my life and in summary, I look at my life in decades, the first decade was being born then filled with travel from a very early stage as well as learning and living in war torn Rhodesia. However with my naivety at that time – the war was almost like an adventure apart from the struggle for food and living in mud huts and sleeping on cow dung decorated floors. The second decade was all about higher education, experiencing teenage years, travelling to Europe albeit briefly and meeting the father of my children. The third decade was the period I had my two children and made the heart breaking decision of leaving my children with my parents while I started a new beginning overseas. However once they joined me, I played my part bringing up my children and step children and juggling motherhood as well as finding and building a career in the banking industry. The fourth decade was spent running and managing a home of seven, travelling on business as well as travelling on family vacations and excelling in my career. The fifth decade is all about enjoying life in retirement and spending time with my grandchildren. Presently, my life is all about living well and spending time in different countries in mainland Europe. Having accomplished more than I ever dreamed of, I feel that I have lived a very blessed/ fortunate life and achieved more than I ever imagined in my life. My only wish is that my parents were here to see how life turned out for me.
