Para el autor de este libro, todos los males de la educación proceden de un equívoco heredado, es decir, de tres grandes ideas incompatibles entre sí. ¿Cuál es el propósito de la educación? ¿Formar buenos ciudadanos e inculcar aptitudes y valores adecuados para la vida en sociedad? ¿Dominar ciertos corpus de conocimientos? ¿Desarrollar el potencial único de cada estudiante?
