En los últimos años, las víctimas del conflicto y los excombatientes desmovilizados se han convertido en actores centrales del conflicto armado en Colombia. A veces se habla de proyectos productivos y hasta matrimonios entre unos y otros, y generalmente se hace referencia a conceptos como la reconciliación o el perdón. Otras veces se plantea una división radical entre víctimas y victimarios que solo la justicia transicional puede remediar. Sin embargo, es poco lo que se conoce acerca del contacto y las relaciones cotidianas que se producen entre víctimas, excombatientes y los demás habitantes de las zonas donde viven. Este libro presenta los hallazgos de una investigación llevada a cabo en 2010, en las localidades de Bosa y Kennedy en Bogotá, la comuna 1 de Medellín y un conjunto de barrios de Valledupar, mediante entrevistas con víctimas, excombatientes y otros habitantes de estas zonas. Aunque se trata de una situación problemática y frágil, las relaciones cotidianas entre estas personas suelen ser pacíficas y se producen espontáneamente. Dicho contacto está marcado principalmente por las intersecciones de sus vivencias pasadas en el conflicto y por las situaciones de precariedad económica que comparten actualmente. La pertinencia de conceptos como el perdón y la relación entre esta coexistencia local y los procesos nacionales de justicia transicional parecen ser mucho menos claras. Esta obra hace un aporte invaluable a nuestra comprensión de uno de los retos más importantes para la construcción de paz en Colombia hoy en día. El reto consiste en cómo se desarrollan, en lo local, las relaciones entre comunidades atravesadas por las múltiples dinámicas de la guerra, y dentro de estas. Con base en un marco conceptual que pone a dialogar diferentes disciplinas, una encuesta, entrevistas juiciosas y una rigurosa observación en campo de comunidades que albergan víctimas y des movilizados, el autor nos propone reflexiones que riñen con los saberes establecidos y nos motivan a indagar más y más profundamente en las perspectivas para la reconciliación en el país. Esteban de Garibay, cronista oficial de Felipe II, fue el autor de la primera Historia de España y de un inédito nobiliario, y legó una obra autobiográfica rara en el Siglo de Oro, editada en 1854 con descuido y bajo el título de ?Memorias?, inasequible al público e ignorada por historiadores, tal vez perplejos sobre su género literario. Testigos de abordajes, de batallas navales, de barcos hundidos, de pescadores perdidos en la bruma... Los faros son los grandes desconocidos costeros. Este es un viaje colosal por las grandes luminarias que conectan el mar con los puertos y costas. Los faros forman parte de la historia de nuestro mundo. También de emigrantes que huyen de la pobreza y de flotas de guerra que han arrasado países o se han destruido entre ellas. Los fareros han salvado náufragos con sus propias manos y los han alojado en sus casas; han sufrido todo tipo de desastres meteorológicos, han pasado hambre, frío y miedo. Personas anónimas que, a veces, han sido héroes, otras simples trabajadores y, de vez en cuando, pícaros. Trabajadores en situaciones extremas que ha dejado su huella entre los destellos y que no merecen quedar en el olvido. Todos los faros son diferentes pero, en el fondo, todos son iguales Este libro es un homenaje a una profesión abocada a la extinción, que nació con el primer fuego que se hizo en una costa —tal y como Homero relata en su Odisea­— para guiar a los navegantes. En sus páginas conoceremos la historia de las luminarias más representativas de la historia, al tiempo que reivindica la conservación de los faros como edificios históricos, singulares e inspiradores, repasando los más emblemáticos de toda la historia.
