Cada 25 d’abril commemorem –però no celebrem– la derrota d’Almansa. Aquella batalla, de l’any 1707, va significar l’anul·lació de tots els drets i els privilegis que ens eren propis com a poble. El pas del temps ha elevat aquesta fita històrica a una categoria quasi mítica. Però, com va ser possible aquell canvi radical? Per què va desaparéixer el Regne de València i quines conseqüències va tindre aquest fet per al nostre poble? Amb la intenció de continuar divulgant els personatges i els esdeveniments més importants de la nostra història col·lectiva i de commemorar els tres segles d’aquells fets transcendentals, Edicions Bromera publica aquesta obra de gran format en la qual Joan F. Mira, d’una manera ben entenedora, revela al gran públic la naturalesa autèntica del conflicte.

En este libro se estudia la implantación del régimen franquista en Alicante desde el mismo día en que acaba la guerra civil hasta el año 1946. Para ello se ha analizado documentación inédita y de primera mano de la institución más importante de aquellos años: el Gobierno Civil. Los objetivos básicos que tuvo éste a la hora de llevar a cabo su actuación fueron instaurar a todos los niveles los parámetros del nuevo Estado y mantener el orden público. Para ello hizo uso de todos los instrumentos que tuvo a su alcance en un proceso de control casi total de la vida política, económica y social alicantina. Por esta última razón, este estudio desborda lo que es la investigación de un órgano administrativo para convertirse en un estudio completo de la vida política, social y económica de la provincia de Alicante durante estos seis duros años de las posguerra. En el terreno político es la época de la dura pugna mantenida entre falangistas y derechistas por hacerse con el poder y las prebendas a él adyacentes. En el campo económico los años de la autoarquía y el estraperlo: miseria, hambre y corrupción. En el ámbito social el período de represión, el adoctrinamiento y el férreo control de los movimientos, las acciones y las ideas. La consecuencia final, en una provincia mayoritariamente hostil al nuevo régimen, fue la restauración a todos los niveles de los sectores que se habían visto amenazados por la política reformista republicana.

Esta edición recupera a que se ofrece no volume IV das Obras de Castelao e que se basea tanto nas versións xa publicadas como nos mecanoscritos, ata entón inéditos, custodiados no Museo de Pontevedra.
