Aquest catàleg presenta la relació de publicacions monogràfiques i seriades ingressades a la secció de Paleografia i Diplomàtica del Departament d'Història Medieval, Paleografia i Diplomàtica de la Universitat de Barcelona, entre l'any 1974 fins al 2000. Els fons bibliogràfics anteriors foren publicats a la revista barcelonesa "Biblioteconomía" (núm. 65-66 del 1967; 69-70 del 1969; 71-72 del 1970) i per l'antic Departament de Paleografia i Diplomàtica de la Universitat de Barcelona (1973). A més a més d'altres ciències interdisciplinàries, l'interès d'aquest catàleg consisteix en la informació bibliogràfica en relació amb l'àrea de coneixement "Ciències i Tècniques Historiogràfiques", en matèries com Paleografia, Codicologia, Epigrafia, Diplomàtica, Cronologia, Sigil·lografia, Història monetària, Genealogia, Heràldica, Arxivística, Bibliologia, Bibliografia, Biblioteconomia i Documentació.
