Iniciada a principios de siglo, la producción de juguetes en Ibi relegó en pocos años la agricultura de secano y las tradiciones rurales a un segundo plano, redujo al mínimo la emigración secular de temporeros y dio paso a nuevas formas de vida que giraban totalmente en torno a la industria.En estas páginas se analiza el origen de la juguetería, a partir del taller familiar de los Payá pero también de las bases sociales y económicas que facilitaron su éxito; después, el rápido proceso de mecanización, la aparición de nuevas fábricas y las transformaciones sociales que llevaron consigo.
