Libro para que el alumno trabaje y mejore la comprensión lectora y desarrolle las capacidades que conducen a mejorarla. Se estrutura en cuatro bloques que abarcan los principales tipos de textos con los que los alumnos se pueden encontrar: Bloque I: Cómo leo textos literarios (narraciones, descripciones, ensayos, diálogos, poesías...). Bloque II: Cómo leo la prensa (noticias, reportajes, entrevistas...). Bloque III: Cómo leo textos relacionados con materias curriculares (matemáticas, ciencias sociales, ciencias de la naturaleza, música, arte...). Bloque IV: Cómo leo para los demás (lectura en voz alta de los diferentes tipos de textos). Se proponen numerosos ejercicios para trabajar la competencia lectora, las estrategias de comprensión lectora y de control de la comprensión.
