Actualmente es alto el número de personas que sobrepasan la tercera edad, uno de los mayores logros de la humanidad moderna y a la vez un gran problema, sobre todo para la ciencia médica. Uno de esos problemas es el bloqueo cardiaco, cuya única alternativa de tratamiento es la implantación de un marcapasos.En esta obra, dirigida a cardiólogos que comienzan a especializarse en arritmias y marcapasos, especialistas en Terapia Intensiva, Internistas y a médicos Generales Integrales que atienden a pacientes portadores de estos dispositivos; se realiza una revisión bibliográfica de las indicaciones de marcapasos transitorios y permanentes, la cual permite expresar consideraciones y algoritmos para la interpretación del electrocardiograma de pacientes con bradiarritmias, además de la toma de decisiones a la hora de implantar un marcapasos tanto transitorio como definitivo.El libro se compone de V capítulos donde se presentan trazados electrocardiográficos de pacientes con bradiarritmias y marcapasos, su diagnóstico, interpretación así como su conducta emergente y definitiva.
