Resulta sumamente original la idea de comentar esta espléndida y nutrida selección de imágenes de portadas de antiguos discos a 45 r.p.m. en los que multitud de chicas nos dedican su impronta vinílica a lo largo de más de tres décadas. Los capítulos que lo componen nos aproximan —a veces desde la impresión de que el autor ni siquiera se lo propone— a un mejor entendimiento de esos años, mostrándonos su particular visión del mundo con reflexiones unas veces formales —las menos—, junto a otras del todo jocosas —las más­—. Y es que el fino humor del autor planea por todo el texto, dejándonos algunos soberbios momentos de genuino disparate marxista (de los Hermanos Marx). Se trata, en definitiva, de aprovechar la maravillosa iconografía que nos desvelan aquellas entrañables carátulas musicales para, de una manera alternativa pero siempre divertida, entender, de paso, la idiosincrasia masculina al referirnos a ellas —las chicas— en cualquier situación.
