DELTA

A MAN IS NOTHING  Trace Reeves was one bad day from a dishonorable discharge. The best the Navy SEALs had to offer, he became a vengeful, angry mess when his twin brother was killed-in-action. Now he's focused on a deadly obsession and unable to cope with the pain and guilt... except one time, in the arms of a one night stand that he'd never see again. She was smart, the sexiest thing he'd ever touched, but she disappeared into the night.  WITHOUT HIS TEAM  Titan Group was recruiting for their Delta team. They wanted ghosts. No ties. Nothing personal. The best of the best who could live off the grid and surface when commanded. Trace was the perfect recruit. Damaged. Heroic. Nothing to lose.  UNTIL A MISSION--OR A WOMAN--CHANGES EVERYTHING  But when Trace's one-time fling becomes his high-value target during a black ops job, the lines blur between her rescue mission and saving himself.

FALLING INTO ONE

In the years since retirement, dealing with the grief of the loss of a child and a Mother with Alzheimer's has been a full time job. Although both my son and my mother are gone now, these experiences will remain with me always. Writing helps...thanks to my mentor and teacher, Sheila Bender, for sharing her own grief to help others through theirs. Having been a professional writer my entire teaching career, it was only after my retirement several years ago that I became the student and let myself be immersed in essay and poetry. I have focused on expressing grief and joy, at both ends of the life spectrum, in poetry format. Sharing writing lets us know each other's hearts and minds in a way few other things do. - Judy

THE WILLOW HOWL

Lisa Brognano’s poetry is the vocal expression of those most beautiful things. Seemingly simple and familiar experiences and observations from everyday life come unannounced from Lisa’s own memories and take a reader by the throat. As serious poems do. And although the experiences are completely hers, we are struck by some universal truths that she so inconspicuously reveals to us with such easiness and simplicity.— Stevan V. Nikolic, Editor, Adelaide Literary Magazine

TIME STEALS SOFTER

The theme of time and its associated expressions of mutability, limitation and loss figures prominently in this collection. The title poem is an attempted objectification, one could say personification, of time which ultimately overturns any of the parallels drawn between it and the figures adduced as its visible representatives to stand in any symmetrical relationship. In the end it is a poem of inadequate comparisons mutely pointing to the impossibility of capturing the moment in its inevitable passing and, by implication, the poetic figurations striving to seize it through their imagery and naming. There are diversions too from this theme and touches of lightness, here and there, in subjects as diverse as love, in its generous and less than selfless senses, human grotesquery and those all-important quiet meditative interludes, sustaining in themselves long after their passing, to which we all aspire.?

HITCHHIKING THE HIGHWAY OF TEARS

Poetry exploring both the interior landscape and landscape of the natural world--particularly the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. This is a collection of beauty and loss, relating the interaction of nature and human nature. There is a stunning light throughout these poems.--Lana Hechtman Ayers, author of Red Riding Hood's Real Life: a novel in verse
