El autismoes un trastorno del neurodesarrollo, de origen neurobiológico, que se sueleidentificar durante los tres primeros años de vida de la persona que lopresenta. Actualmente incluye en la categoría denominada como trastornos delespectro autista (TEA); Esimportante que los niñosafectados por este trastorno reciban una adecuada estimulacióncognitiva, sobre todo en etapas tempranas. El objetivo último del presentemanual de estimulación cognitiva será mejorar las funciones que está afectadas medianteejercicios simples y entretenidos, favoreciendo su papel social e intentando llenar las horasvacías de los paciente con actividades especialmente diseñadas para ellos, quesin duda le reportarán beneficios a ellos y a sus familiares.
