Monasterios de España, l'any 2001, va rebre un premi del Ministeri d'Educació i Cultura com a llibre més ben editat de l'any. Els monestirs van ser les llars de bona part de l'estament eclesiàstic al llarg de l'època medieval. En aquesta obra Pedro Navascués, membre de la Reial Acadèmia de les Belles Arts de San Fernando, ha seleccionat una sèrie de monestirs i convents de diferents ordes religiosos destacant en cada cas els aspectes més singulars de la seva història. Tot plegat ens introdueix en la relació existent entre aquests ordes i la petjada que van deixar en l'arquitectura dels seus monestirs i convents.
