La Catedral Metropolitana i Primada de Tarragona, dedicada a santa Tecla, pot ser classificada estilísticament com a protogòtica i vinculada en els seus inicis amb el romànic. La seva solidesa arquitectònica, colossal traça, severa elegància i riquesa ornamental enalteixen aquest recinte on els diversos estils i llurs singulars obres artístiques reflecteixen l’excel·lència d’aquest emblemàtic espai de culte. Atesa la seva grandiositat i harmonia estructural, és considerada com la principal catedral gòtica de Catalunya.
