MATERIALS PER A L’ESTUDI DE LA MASIA (DANÉS I TORRAS, JOSEP)

Aquest llibre aplega en un únic volum els estudis realitzats (publicats o inèdits) per l'arquitecte olotí Josep Danés (1891-1955) sobre la masia durant els anys 1914-1936. Les seves investigacions sobre el tema varen tenir un considerable impacte en els ambients culturals de la Catalunya noucentista. La seva principal contribució va ser descobrir en la masia una estructura arquitectònica (que definí com a "clàssica") basada en tres cossos i una sala central, esdevinguda una constant arquitectònica invariable al llarg dels segles XVI-XX. També qüestionà el suposat origen "popular" de la masia. Les seves tesis, despullades de la ideologia pairalista que les amara, en bona part han continuat essent vigents fins avui. Acompanyen els textos de Josep Danés (editats i curats pel filòleg David Prats) un estudi introductori a càrrec de l'arquitecte Jeroni Moner i de l'historiador i professor de la Universitat de Girona Joaquim M. Puigvert que pretén donar als lectors de manera sintètica els instruments necessaris per a contextualitzar (arquitectònicament i històrica) les aportacions danesianes al coneixement de la masia.
