Se hace un recorrido por los principales edificios sevillanos trazados en el siglo XVII, de los que se hace una aproximación a sus fases constructivas, maestros de obras y canteros que intervinieron en ellas y entre los que se cuentan edificios tan significativos como los Hospitales de las Cinco Llagas y de la Caridad, el Palacio de Altamira, la Casa de Pilatos o la Iglesia del Sagrario. Se completa con el estudio del lenguaje tanto arquitectónico como ornamental empleado por los artífices y las diferentes fuentes que de los tratados tomaron los maestros
