MEMÒRIA D’UN POETA DE LA RENAIXENÇA

Rafael Ferrer i Bigné (1836-1892), reconegut erudit del huit-cents valencià, només va publicar un assaig en la seua vida, encara que tenia preparats altres projectes editorials. No va trobar l'oportunitat de recopilar en llibres la seua extensa producció literària, però va conservar pràcticament tots els seus escrits i assajos de recerca en un arxiu que ha arribat intacte fins als nostres dies gràcies als seus hereus. Ara és el temps adequat per a posar en marxa amb aquest llibre una iniciativa editorial que reconstruïsca per primera vegada la seua biografia inspirada i documentada en els materials inèdits. En el seu perfil cultural destaca ser un dels promotors valencians de la Renaixença, que va treballar molt prop de Teodor Llorente, Félix Pizcueta, Víctor Balaguer i el poeta Querol. La seua extensa obra escrita en valencià i castellà correspon a l'activitat com a periodista, erudit, traductor, dramaturg i poeta, a més de jurista i advocat. La biografia relaciona les diferents etapes vitals de l'escriptor amb els variats aspectes de la seua producció poètica i assagística, i amb la seua estreta vinculació amb els mitjans informatius de l'època, fins i tot amb un gènere específic, poc desenvolupat llavors, com el de la premsa per a dones. La investigació realitzada per l'autor del llibre permet comprendre millor els avanços i les contradiccions que va provocar, al si de la societat valenciana, el suport al moviment identitari de la Renaixença d'un sector de la seua burgesia, de la qual el poeta formava part. Ferrer i Bigné tingué un paper destacat en la creació de Lo Rat Penat, en l'eixida al mercat informatiu del diari Las Provincias i en l'activitat de l'Acadèmia de Belles Arts de Sant Carles.

CINTA SABATÉ QUEROL, UNA DONA ESCULTORA

Zoraida Burgos, en la seua paraula de poeta, ens suggereix: Deixar-nos submergir en el món que ens proposa Cinta, un món on cada línia té un sentit i un significat, on no calen sons per comunicar certeses, on la força i la delicadesa de les formes ens desperta un cop més el sentiment mai oblidat de la bellesa, i ens recorda també que les escultures, les dones, de Cinta Sabaté són una sola dona i són totes les dones. El fet que Cinta Sabaté hagués estat alumna a la Facultat de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi li permeté entrar en un món on va poder accedir a una sèrie de coneixements. Amb aquesta formació es va poder expressar amb rotunditat i fermesa i preparar per a la seua futura carrera docent. La seua estada a Barcelona li facilità ampliar els estudis artístics i viure el riquíssim món cultural que ofereix la capital de Catalunya.
