Hug Roger III tenia setze anys quan es va convertir en l'últim comte del Pallars en un marc històric tan conflictiu com el darrer tram del segle XV. L'anomenat «Senyor de les muntanyes» va ser un d'aquests nobles que la història ha de redescobrir. Hi ha historiadors que acusen Hug Roger des ser la causa principal que Catalunya rodolés pel desordre i la guerra; en canvi, altres, el veuen un home d'honor i un defensor de les llibertats del país. Fou l'únic noble català que Joan II no va perdonar a la Capitulació de Pedralbes, raó per la qual es va retirar al Pallars i va plantejar-se la creació d'un estat independent al cor dels Pirineus. Assumpta Cantalozella ens acosta els clarobscurs d'aquest personatge real i novel·lesc alhora, barrejant amors i desamors, episodis de bruixeria i el robatori, en els nostres dies, dels documents d'una exposició al Museu d'Història de Catalunya.

El Diari d'un pistoler de la FAI parteix d'un fet sense precedents: el diari d'un militant de la FAI, Josep Serra, integrant d'una de les Patrulles de Control de Barcelona durant el primer any de la guerra. És a dir, un dels encarregats de la incautació de béns, detenció de persones i execució dels qui eren considerats traïdors a la revolució.A partir de les pàgines del diari, que es reprodueix de manera íntegra, juntament amb altra documentació inèdita, Miquel Mir estudia el context en què es va desenvolupar la violència anarquista a Catalunya des del 19 de juliol de 1936 fins als Fets de Maig de 1937, quan el poder dels anarquistes va ser definitivament desactivat.Més enllà d'establir les responsabilitats, el Diari d'un pistoler de la FAI reconstrueix una trajectòria personal i col·lectiva, i exposa les circumstàncies que conduïren obrers com en Josep a lliurar-se a la causa llibertària i en nom de la qual, en els violents dies de la revolució, executarien el terror sistemàtic i organitzat.
