Un grup d?adolescents rep del seu professor de Filosofia l?encàrrec de realitzar un treball sobre les principals teories ètiques formulades al llarg de la història. A partir d?aquí, les idees intemporals de grans pensadors com Sòcrates, els Sofistes, Plató, Epicur, Kant, Nietzsche, etc. sobre com assolir la felicitat, impregnaran les vides del Carles, la Júlia, el Pere, la Tere i la resta de protagonistes, joves de la nostra època que afronten els principals problemes morals de la nostra societat: les relacions interpersonals, el racisme, les drogues, la deterioració ecològica, la immigració, el progrés científic, el consumisme, la igualtat de gènere, etc. Els camins de la felicitat s?afegeix al propòsit de llibres com El món de Sofia, de fer arribar als seus lectors algunes idees fonamentals de la història del pensament entrellaçant-les amb una història de ficció que no deixarà ningú indiferent.
