JOSEP CARBONELL I GENER.

Josep Carbonell i Gener (Sitges 1897-1979). Entre avantguardes i l?humanisme narra la trajectòria biogràfica d?aquest personatge, des de la infantesa sitgetana, vetllada de prop per la cura del doctor Robert, i l?adolescència compartida amb M. A. Cassanyes i influïda per Miquel Utrillo fins a la venerable senectud en què finalment va poder percebre la valoració de la seva tasca cultural i humanista. Josep Carbonell i Gener es va estrenar com a publicista a les pàgines de la revista Terramar (1919-1921), conciliant noucentisme i avantguardes. A Monitor (1921-1923) va expressa l?ideari polític compartit fil per randa amb J.V.Foix, amb qui des de 1918 el va unir una amistat i una complicitat que només la seva mort va estroncar. Des de L?Amic de les Arts (1926-1929) va promoure tant les avantguardes i els seus noms més significants com la cultura occitana. Si fins ara el nom de Josep Carbonell i Gener ha estat acompanyant el J.V.Foix o el de la causa occitana, a partir d?aquesta biografia entrarà amb nom propi en la història cultural de la Catalunya del segle XX.
