El glaucoma es una enfermedad en la que se va deteriorando lavisión de manera gradual. Por lo general no presenta síntomas y puede resultaren la pérdida de la visión de manera repentina. Sin el tratamiento apropiado, el glaucoma puede llevar a la ceguera. De ahíla importancia de una detección precoz. Una vez instaurada la patología, eltratamiento a aplicar cobra una gran relevancia para lograr frenar laprogresión y deterioro visual.

En el presente trabajo se evalúan mediante un método inocuo y accesible en la práctica clínica, dos importantes condicionantes del riesgo cardiovascular incrementado en los pacientes trasplantados renales, el exceso de masa grasa y la sobrehidratación. Además se estudia prospectivamente el impacto clínico de los mismos en términos de mortalidad, morbilidad cardiovascular y disfunción del injerto renal.
