These few poems unfold the stages life in all its struggles. The seven themes depict a search for inner meaning and purpose whilst living alongside others. The peak theme of Sold for a Song takes its victim through a spiritual emergence where all is not real and where the beauty of vulnerability and essence is denigrated and violated by human hand. The following theme expresses all that is yearned for and lost. Recovering through the illusion of love and all its promises moves us into a phase of absorbing the refreshment through a God given earth. Finally, the ending theme is a sad one. It leaves us with the thoughts of human nature, the culture of time and the repeated destruction of natural creation.

This journey through life is full of winding roads, obstacles and twists of fate that forever change our destinies. The things we encounter along the way affect us immensely. We all have a story to tell, one that is written by raw emotion. This book of poetry and prose happens to be mine. When I was teenager, writing became my means to release all of the feelings trapped deep inside. I would lock myself in my room for hours, spilling ink onto blank pages. In a world where I was so often misunderstood, writing gave me a voice. Several tragedies led me spiraling down a path of self-destruction, and after continuous soul-searching and self-healing, I finally found the inner strength needed to rise again. Like a Phoenix ascending from the grave, I leave behind the ashes of my life scattered about these pages. I have learned a lot through my trials and tribulations and although my destination is still unknown, I will take the time to enjoy each stop along the way. ?All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream.? ~ Edgar Allan Poe
