El escritor francés del siglo XIX, Octave Feuillet, fue muy conocido en su época y ha seguido publicándose y representándose después. Tanto en La novela de un joven pobre como en Historia de una parisiense hay suficiente vigor literario, sabiduría sobre las pasiones humanas, eficacia en el retrato de los personajes y las costumbres como para hacerlas atractivas e interesantes al lector de hoy.
