EL FIN DE LOS LIBROS es, quizás, el relato más interesante e incisivo de la obra de Octave Uzanne, pues ya en fecha tan temprana como 1894 anunciaba el fin del objeto libro que, según él, sería sustituido por artefactos mecánicos para uso de los lectores. Hoy día, augurar el fin del libro impreso no nos suena descabellado, pero hace más de cien años sí lo parecería. Este volumen recoge, además, una selección de relatos de bibliofilias y bibliomanías, y otras curiosidades y rarezas librescas.
